January 9, 2022 - They Both Die At The End

Starting off 2022 with a BANG as I finish a book after the first time in forever. I read They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera and thought it was a super easy fictional read, that made me cry multiple times while reading it. This book was relatively short so pretty quick to get through. I miss reading more fiction, so probably will keep that up for the next book I read. I'll post a mini book report on the journal so stay tuned for more!

January 6, 2022 - Take a walk

Been trying to get out of the house at least once a day. Two days ago I went to get dessert, yesterday I went on a walk, and today I also went on a walk. Not too shabby. I'm not really framing this as setting a goal, but instead thinking that it is probably just good for me to leave the house at some point every day, even for 5 minutes. So far so good.

January 5, 2022 - Finishing books 📚

I always try to set a goal to read more, but the truth is, I very rarely finish books. I'm not sure why this is the case - maybe my attention span has shortened due to social media and I don't receive that quick satisfaction from scrolling on Instagram or watching TikToks. All that is to say, here are some of the books I want to finish this year. We'll see how many I actually get through:

  • Atomic Habits

  • The Catcher in the Rye

  • Crying in H Mart

  • Fahrenheit 451 (reread)

  • Klara and The Sun

  • Maybe You Should Talk to Someone

  • The Midnight Library

  • Minor Feelings

  • Norwegian Wood

  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

  • Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck (reread)

  • They Both Die at The End

January 4, 2022 - New year, same me

Happy New Year! Hoping that 2022 brings positive experiences, gratitude, new experiences, and being able to spend time with loved ones! What better to celebrate the New Year than a new batch of intentions/goal-setting. It's funny that I didn't see through my previous journaling endeavour (and also almost none of my New Year's resolutions).

I do want to celebrate some amazing moments/ achievements nonetheless:

  • I didn't workout regularly, but I did start diving into more sports / activities that I really enjoy like bouldering (even invested in my own pair of shoes), and going skiing for the first time in my life

  • Sought discomfort (moved out to Downtown Toronto for two months, started a new job, solo-travelled for work)

  • Reconnected with old friends and put in the effort to make plans/catch-up

As mentioned last year - I suck at journaling - and this fact really hasn't changed. My friend said journaling daily is less about ACTUALLY doing it every day, but more about consistency and building the habit. So instead of beating myself up for not writing every single day, I'll just try to journal regularly.

For now, I'll sign off with my Vision Board for 2022:
