March 14 - TBD (Write-off)

I'm considering this as taking a much needed vacation off of my side projects...

March 13, 2021 - FOOD!

Today I spent some time in North York and ate some good food! We started by getting street food at this Korean food truck and it. is. amazing. It reminded me of being back in Asia - oh, how I miss travelling... Then we went to Vava which is a claw machine shop, and ya girl won two little plushies. Last but not least. we went to get Sang Ji Fried Bao which are Chinese buns that are filled with soupy goodness. Highly recommend.

March 12, 2021 - Skincare

I've never been huge on skincare. I think it's due to the fact that I'm quite lazy and that I've been genetically blessed to have fairly acne free skin. However, I do think that I need to take better care of myself and my body. Starting my skincare journey by being more intentional about the products I'm putting on my face, and applying them in the right order. I also finally purchased some daily sunscreen to add to my skincare routine. Honestly, it's pretty fun and relaxing to spend a few minutes just taking care of my skin!

March 11, 2021 - Budgeting Journey

Wanted to do a quick check-in to report on how my budgeting journey is going. It. Is. HARD. Partly because I gave myself fairly strict budgets/"fun" income and I'm starting to realize that I either need to 1) give myself more spending room, or 2) really start to live a more budget-friendly life. I've been using Mint to budget and I think it's been a great tool for tracking my spending (the app is sub-par but the website is pretty great). I've been spending over my budget the past few months, so probably time to revisit and rebudget now...

March 10, 2021

Have you also noticed that my entries have been getting shorter and shorter... keeping up a habit is so tricky.

March 9, 2021 - Stars

Really cute thing they did at work is name a star (like in the sky) after you to recognize any good work you've done. Such a sweet idea!

March 8, 2021

Twas a rough past week and I’m glad I had the weekend to rest and recoup. Here’s to hoping that this week is better....

March 7, 2021 - Wandavision

I realized I didn’t talk about Wandavision yet. I’m obsessed with storytelling and the MCU/Disney/Fox/Sony has done an immaculate job with creating this world of superheroes. Wandavision is particularly exciting because of how actively they’re tying everything back to End Game and now X-Men! The Quiksilver in the show is the same actor from the X-Men movies and man that’s some cool stuff. I spent the last week searching up YouTube clips of audience reactions in theatres for End Game. What a time to be alive!

March 6, 2021

Today was a great Saturday! Started off the day by having H-Mart for breakfast (Korean corn dogs, Korean fried chicken, and kimbap!) then we went to walk Esther's dog Bao Bao - she’s grown so much 😭😭. Finished the day off with the movie, The Anthem of the Heart! Definitely recommend - it's very deep and really great storytelling

March 5, 2021 - Local Candles

I bought some local small business soy candles the other day from a shop I found on Etsy. Love that it’s wood wicks and they even provided a small box of matches + a linen bag for each candle!! There’s something amazing about the charm of a small business!

March 4, 2021 - Secret Santa

Today I received my secret Santa gift from Katie (yes we are 3 months late) and this is what I got:

  • Another cute double wall animal mug - I feel like I have to collect all of them now...

  • Pink peach phone case - She knows me so well, it matches my pink Pocky AirPods case too

  • Dainty earrings - Can never go wrong with a pair of dainty earrings. These ones are also asymmetrical

March 3, 2021 - A Covid Year

Dear Emily,

You don’t know this yet but a highly contagious and dangerous virus called, COVID19, will start to permeate your life soon. Much of life as you know it is going to change quite permanently, and though it’s going to be a lot of things happening at once, you're going to be just fine.

Firstly, you’re about to go through one of the toughest years in your life. But despite all the sh*t that will be going on the world, you’re going to be full of gratitude. Gratitude for your health, the health of your loved ones, for being employed, having a voice, and more. This year will teach you a lot of lessons, but the most important one will be to cherish the people in your life - and to hug them extra tight.

A lot of things might not have gone to plan , aka not being able to go on exchange after making it a life goal ever since high school. But because of this whirlwind we call life, a lot of things also fell into place. Stay tuned - it's going to be a wild year.
